Graphic Design
During my digital design course we were tasked with completing various projects, two of which were to design posters for a movie night and an icon set using a repeating element.
For the movie posters, my aim was to use a minimalistic aesthetic to capture a single iconic element from each movie, as well as allowing the user to quickly find the details of when and where the event will take place.
The design of each element was completed in Illustrator.
In addition to digital projects, we also focused on creating and preparing designs for print. In this exercise we were provided with text and images and were required to produce a unique layout for a feature article in a magazine.
For the icon project, I used a bold line aesthetic and choose the circle as my repeating element to create images that are instantly identifiable to the observer, and capture key elements of their respective television series.
Another project was to design a logo for a fictional company. I was given the task of designing a logo for a barbershop which I expanded into a mobile landing page header and business card mockups.
Other examples of print design include concepts for wine bottles from a fictional vinyard and coffee packaging.
